Week Forty-Eight

Happy Thanksgiving!
  • Maddie took her first step!!  That's right....she took her first step all by herself and promptly sat down on her bottom.
  • Went down to the lake and visited the ducks.
  • Was signing "all done" and "more" all week long.  Grandpa Hoskins thought it was so funny that she would shovel her food in and still be asking for more!
  • Went to Outback and enjoyed an after Thanksgiving dinner with Mommy, Daddy, Granny, and Grandpa.  I was so tired of cooking, so this was a nice night out!
  • Slept while Granny and I went black Friday shopping in the middle of the night.
  • Enjoyed her first Thanksgiving with Uncle Chris, Aunt Kara, Cousin Kalia, Granny, Papa, G-ma, Daddy and Mommy.
  • Had fun while we had family at the house for Thanksgiving.  She got to play with her cousin Kalia and of course had lots of love from Granny and Papa.

Week Forty-Five

  • Maddie enjoyed her first Halloween!
  • Had a Halloween party at school with her friends.  I was able to leave work a little early to get there and join in the fun too!  It was so nice to see her with her friends and having such a good time.
  • Had a costume parade at school.
  • Trick-or-treated with the neighbors in Jacob's wagon.  She seemed to enjoy going house to house and relaxing in the wagon.  Maybe next year she will be able to walk to the doors!
  • Went to Caden's 2nd birthday party from across the street.  She was so fascinated with the balloons and the other decorations.  (she especially liked the water bottles!)
  • Took another trip to the lake with daddy while I was working the marching band festival.  Daddy made the mistake of taking her out of the stroller to get a better look at the ducks.  Maddie thought that was permission to pet the ducks and proceeded to scream when she had to go back in the stroller and wasn't allowed to pet the duckies!
  • Call duckies, duddies!  We play with the duckie toys and read about them during bath time each night.  She gets so excited to see them every night.
  • Loves the bubble machine that Granny left for her.  It sticks to the bath tub and blows tons of bubbles, which Maddie loves!
  • Is so smart...when the play telephone rings on her toys, she picks it up and puts it up to her (not always her ear...sometimes its her neck or head or she just throws it over her shoulder) and says, "hi".
  • Knows what the dog says.  When you ask her what the dog says, she replies: "woo woo"
  • Walks with her push toy a little, but stands up on everything!
  • Can stand up for almost 30 seconds by herself
  • Had to go to the Pediatrician on Halloween for a really bad diaper rash.  She usually never gets diaper rash, but after her being on antibiotics and then me being on antibiotics (she gets some through my milk), she was very susceptible to all kinds of stuff.  After a few days, she is doing much better!

At the party!

The kids are wearing their messy shirts over their costumes, so they don't get them dirty.
